¡¡Viva Mexico!! An evening of Mexican wines!!  Are you having a “wait, what?” moment?  You read that right!  We’re showcasing an incredible (and largely unknown) swatch of wines from our neighbors to the south.  Patrick Neri from Beso Imports will help guide you along as we taste through the Baja peninsula.  These are some of the most vibrant and exciting wines we’ve come across in a long time.  Thanks to the sea breeze and fog from the Pacific, Baja has pockets of perfect climate suited to growing some incredible wines.  We can’t wait to see you and dive deep south of the border

Our pal Billy Farrow will be in town pouring wines from Dusted Valley this tuesday!  These craft wines are a labor of love from the Johnson and Braunel families, who left Wisconsin to chase their dreams of making wine in the Walla Walla Valley.  Now in their 20th year, they are making some of the most delicious wines in the PNW.  With their fastidious attitudes toward agriculture, and sustainable practices, they aim to express the best that Washington can produce.  Simply put, they are making the wines that they want to drink, and we do too.

Have you ever maybe finished that last glass of cool, crisp white wine and thought "Oh wow, I just drank that whole bottle?"  Well, we're not here to judge!  If anything, allow us to encourage!!  We asked our friends at Walden Selections what they're drinking this summer, and we've got a fun selection of seriously sessionable wines from all over.  Come discover some new patio pounders and have a few snacks as we're now offering a small menu to enjoy with our tastings!

Come have sekts with us!!  Haven't had sekts before?  It's going to be OK.  "Sekt" is the German word for sparkling wine.  While most people look to Champagne or Prosecco for something bubbly, it turns out their neighbors Germany and Austria make some pretty fantastic sparkling wines themselves!  We'll taste different producers and styles, made with a variety of grapes. 

Starting this Tuesday we are thrilled to begin offering some lighter fare and glass pours for purchase should you really like something!  So come by, eat some snacks, and have sekts with all your friends!

A Taste of Burgundy: Deep Thoughts with Chardonnay & Pinot Noir!

The wine nerds over at Halfseas don’t need many excuses to drink Burgundian wine. We don’t do favorites often, but given our mood, we may admit to loving these more than others (but we’re not ready to admit this).  On a sunny day and a free afternoon and you might find us lazing on a boat with a cold glass of Bourgogne Blanc. Rain or inclement weather? Give us pâte or a piece of chicken and we won’t be able to help ourselves from opening our favorite red Burgundy. We adore Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and we want to share this love with you tonight as we take a little bite out of Burgundy, France, and dip into some classics! Come ready to say “Oui!”

Un Petit Monde: Wines of the Jura, Savoie and Alsace

WINE TASTING & ART POP UP with Zinc Contemporary featuring the work of Rachel Campbell–

Halfseas Wine and Zinc Contemporary present an evening of art and wine, in celebration of the small things that make life, art and wine endlessly mysterious and worth exploring.

Featuring “petit” production wines from France, we will be pouring wines that are focused on balance, terroir and harmony with the land as found in the Jura, Savoie, and Alsace. These are not just well-crafted wines, but FUN and palate friendly wines meant to punch far above their weight! Featured vignerons will be paired alongside paintings that are anything but small in the feelings that they produce: Domaine Pignier, Vignobles Reveur, Domaine de l’Idylle, Domaine Leon Boesch, Domaine Giachino Prieure

About the artist: “My paintings are about commonplace moments that intrigue me. I look for the beauty in unexpected places. I choose to paint with abstracted realism. ENTER SLOVENIA! We realize that you weren’t expecting that, but we thought SLOVENIA could really use some recognition, you know? (Caps were necessary too). Home to the world’s oldest grape vine, Slovenia wine culture is older than Rome and – by god – that is old. The new Slovenia, however, is anything but your Grandpa’s wine. This Tuesday, throw on your coolest duds, put that tv program on hold, and get down to Halfseas for a kickass wine tasting of the new, cool Slovenian wine wizards.

It’s strictly hush, hush: Chile and Argentina have been keeping secrets! Some of the coolest things in the wine world right now are happening in these South American countries and we want to share just a peek through the keyhole at our next tasting with a beautifully curated selection from a handful of small producers. Get away from what you’ve know of South American wine: mass produced, cheap, big-bodied supermarket reds and JUMP southward through the keyhole to a far more delicious, exciting world of Chilean and Argentinian wine with real soul.
